Tips on games for the Christmas party
We love games and challenges of all kinds. Here are some tips on simple games for your Christmas party.
In our opinion, we at Utmaningarnas Hus offer Malmö's absolute most fun concept for the Christmas party, where playful activities are mixed with good food in a relaxed environment.
But... We also know that many Christmas parties are celebrated at home or in your own office, so we thought we'd make some suggestions for simple games you can play with your guests at your own Christmas party:
Christmas movie quiz
Create a Christmas movie trivia game where participants guess the movie based on quotes, stills or sound clips from famous Christmas movies. Divide everyone into teams and award points for correct answers. Take inspiration from one of the many ready-made Christmas quizzes available online.

Christmas is stolen
Variation on the Christmas gift game where each guest brings a wrapped, cheap or humorous gift. Players take turns choosing a gift or stealing one from someone else. It's a fun way to exchange gifts and add excitement to the party. Several variations of the game exist.
Jul-Pictionary
Play Christmas-themed Pictionary where participants draw Christmas-related objects, carols or characters and their team members guess what they draw within a time limit. Preferably on a flipchart or whiteboard for all to see. If your team has not guessed correctly within the time limit, you can let the other team have a guess, and a chance to score.
Christmas Trivia Quiz
Put together a Christmas quiz covering different Christmas-related topics such as traditions, history, carols and different cultures. Create teams and see which group knows the most about Christmas.
Christmas bingo
Create bingo cards with Christmas-related pictures or words. Select a participant who has not seen the cards and their contents. This person has the task of saying words that they associate with Christmas. Should they say something that is on the bingo card, the guests mark them on their cards. The first team to complete a line or pattern shouts "Bingo!" and wins a prize.
Fill the Christmas stocking relay
Each team has a Christmas stocking to fill with sweets. The candy is placed in bowls at a distance and the participants have to transport the candy from the bowl on a spoon they hold in their mouth. It's a classic Christmas-themed relay race. A bonus is that you get to eat the candy afterwards.
The gingerbread duels
Each team has to mix up a gingerbread dough without googling recipes. All the right ingredients (and maybe some wrong ones?) are available. The tip is to have a limited amount of a key ingredient (e.g. butter) so that the size of the dough (and possible food waste) doesn't get out of hand. The team with the dough most similar to the original wins. You can then bake the original gingerbread or store the dough in the fridge until you have time to bake.
