Tips for your Christmas party with work. Raise the spirits all day long!
It's almost time for this year's Christmas party with work! We want to give you some tips on how to make this day an extraordinary experience.
Perhaps you have already booked everything or are in the process of planning. It is of course extra fun if you have chosen to book this year's Christmas party here at Teamfabriken.
We promise that we will take good care of you once you come to us, but want to give some tips on how to frame your own party in the best way.
Work on expectations early! Distribute a written "invitation" to the Christmas party a couple of weeks before. Presumably, the participants have already received an invitation in the email where they have had the chance to accept the Christmas table, but here you can work with information about the party, last minute reminders, what the participants should think about and what the schedule for the evening will look like. This will make the invitees feel welcome and give them a chance to prepare. If you want to make it extra special, you can send something Christmassy in the envelope. Some glitter, a snack (sweets, marshmallows), a few sprays of Christmas perfume or some snow confetti
Let the whole day be Christmas! Set the mood first thing in the morning with a porridge breakfast, candles lit when colleagues arrive and Christmas music
Christmas crafts! Hand out small Christmas craft kits to everyone and let the creativity flow. These small workshops can be done a few days before the party itself, to create a sense of anticipation early on. These (often less than beautiful) creations can then be used as table decorations during the party itself.
Catch the pre-party! Many people gather at their workplace before the party and then carpool to the Christmas party. Here it can be fun to make the pre-party an activity. Maybe mix drinks together, have a little beer tasting or similar. You can find luxurious Christmas-themed drinks here.
Serve the pre-drinks in Christmas balls! Another "fun" tip for the pre-party can be to decorate the office Christmas tree with drinkable Christmas balls. A slightly cheesy but guaranteed different way to start the party.
Do you want people to dress up? Or dress up ? Here, both the manager and the party committee set the tone through their choice of clothes. Perhaps this can also be encouraged in your written invitation? A few weeks before, you can email out a selfie of the party committee wearing your best Christmas jumpers if you want to encourage festive outfits, or a picture of the manager wearing the party bag if you want to encourage participants to dress extra festively.
Are you planning to have a seating arrangement for the Christmas table? A fun task for participants is that everyone at the table has something in common, and their job is to find out what this might be. It could be anything from having a birthday in the same month, having a particular hobby, starting work in the same year, living in the same municipality, etc.
Last but not least, don't stress to the end. Often it can feel like a big responsibility to organize a Christmas party for colleagues, but once the evening has arrived, just relax and try to enjoy the evening as much as everyone else. Trust that it will be good and that people will have fun!
We hope you can benefit from our tips and that this year's Christmas party will be an unforgettable experience.
Merry Christmas to all us elves here at Teamfabriken Malmö!
