Latest news about our golf club Naturligtvis GCC (formerly Assartorp GK)
What is really happening at our golf club?
For those who have completely missed the fact that we also run a golf club, we will give you a quick summary. In 2015, the owners of Utmaningarnas Hus bought the land where the then Assartorps Golf Club had its operations. However, the golf club was forced into bankruptcy a year later and the business lay dormant until 2018 when the decision to start up operations went from idea to reality.
The whole of 2018 has been spent redesigning the golf course and working out what we want to do with the clubhouse. What is happening is that 6 holes will not be put back into use, 6 holes will remain in their original form and 6 holes have been redesigned by Scottish course architects who have lived and worked at the club in the summer of 2018. The result is a 12-hole Pay & Play course that will be inaugurated in its entirety in the spring of 2019. Six of the twelve holes are already open and playable for the curious golfers.
What about the clubhouse? We will be using Naturligtvis GCC as an extension of Utmaningarnas Hus meeting and conference facilities. Major renovations are underway inside and soon we will be able to offer conference rooms with stunning views of the rolling countryside. The dining area will also be refreshed and equipped for both parties and conferences.
The goal is to make it a meeting place for nature lovers and not exclusively for golfers. We plan to offer activities (of course) but not only with a focus on golf, but also horseback riding, boules, hiking and more. In the long run, we will also furnish parts of the clubhouse for overnight guests, with cozy hotel rooms in B&B style.
Please follow Naturally GCC on Facebook, where we often update with the latest news and pictures from the renovation.
